The Power of Proximity

You might be wondering, what’s the secret behind attracting your first customer?

Well, it lies in the power of proximity. When we talk about proximity, we mean geographic or network proximity.

Think about the people around you – your friends, colleagues, or even acquaintances. These individuals are more likely to give your SaaS product a chance because they already have some level of trust in you.

Proximity matters because people naturally tend to gravitate toward those they know and trust.

The degree of proximity matters because it builds a foundation of trust and credibility. When you approach someone within your network, they’re more likely to listen to you and consider your product.

They already have a sense of familiarity with you, which makes it easier to start a conversation and explain the value your SaaS product offers.

This initial level of trust can significantly increase your chances of converting them into your first customer.

If you launch for a new and first customer, consider the people closest to you – relationally and geographically.” – Matt Deseno

How to Start a Conversation with the People in Your Network

Starting a conversation about your SaaS product may seem daunting, but remember, you’re not trying to sell them right away.

Instead, focus on building a genuine connection and demonstrating the value you can provide. Begin by reaching out to your network with a friendly message, expressing your excitement about your new venture.

Share your passion and explain how your SaaS product solves a specific problem or addresses a common pain point.

By approaching the conversation from a place of authenticity and helpfulness, you’ll pique their interest and set the stage for further discussions.

Don’t Wait for Perfection. Just Do It!

One common mistake many entrepreneurs make is waiting for everything to be perfect before launching their product or approaching potential customers.

Remember, perfection is a myth.

Instead of waiting for the perfect moment, take action now.

Start reaching out to your network, have conversations, gather feedback, and iterate on your product based on the insights you gain.

Embrace the learning process and understand that your SaaS product will evolve and improve over time. The key is to get started and keep moving forward.

You’ve got this!

Take that leap and watch your entrepreneurial journey unfold.
