Is entrepreneurship the end goal or a means to an end?

In this part four episode of the Entrepreneurs Call Their Shots series, I’ve asked another set of driven entrepreneurs about their goals, action plans, and timeline at the LevelUp Summit.

Today, you’ll hear from successful entrepreneurs about how they use their businesses to create a better work-life balance, start a movement, build communities, and more.

Let’s jump in!

What Entrepreneurs Really Want

Some people only see the fancy cars and lavish trips that come with being an entrepreneur.

What they didn’t know is that entrepreneurship is a challenging journey. Starting a business is not for the faint-hearted, as it requires much of your time, effort, and commitment.

Whether you’re a solopreneur or an agency owner who employs 20 workers or more, the demand that’s ever-present in having a business is backbreaking.

However, what powers most entrepreneurs is the thought that they can set their own hours, be their boss, and work on projects that they are passionate about.

This flexibility can be especially beneficial for those who want to spend more time with their family or their interests.

And so, I asked 60+ entrepreneurs to call their shots at the LevelUp Summit, and these are what stood out for me.

“After years and years of doing fulfillment for agencies, it’s pretty tough. You know, it’s up and down, there’s a lot of churns. So I want my time back, and I want to do better work, want to be quicker and faster fulfillment for the clients. You know, less of the getting into the weeds, but more of the real help, what I call the nerd work.”

“My big thing is I want to continue to be able to spend time with the people I love without restrictions. I want to come to an event like this and not worry about [having to deal with spit, saliva, and stuff like that as a dentist] and just hang out with cool people like you whenever I want.”

“I want to be able to, to build a team where I can probably like proudly say that I’ve created millionaires, 14 members, that has worked together with me, that’s that’s my, that’s my goal.”

“So anything you want to go for started today, write yourself a letter, you know, make that phone call, send that email, it can be the smallest of things to get to where you want. I’m trying to start a movement where we actually start supporting each other. “

“I want to bring my parents from Cuba over to the US within one year. That’s my personal goal for the next year, it is my goal to give back to them as much as possible. So that’s gonna be my personal goal.”

“My focus is family. So.. and I think that’s… a family because once you started rooting everything out of that, then all your priorities just kind of shift towards either. I mean, you start from personal growth, and from personal growth comes business growth, and everything else, I think, and making other people happy.”
